Stanley Kubrick’s horror masterpiece The Shining is making its way to cinemas in America for a limited time period. From Sunday 23rd-Wednesday 26th October, the Jack Nicholson spine-chiller will be screening nationwide at 2pm and 7pm local time. Additionally, the screening will feature exclusive commentary from TCM host Ben Mankiewicz. You lucky folk!
The Shining is one of a host of movies that Turner Classic Movies is bringing to the big screen this year. They might not be horrors, but the selection is packed with classic flicks including Breakfast at Tiffany’s in November and From Here to Eternity in December.
I have never seen The Shining on the big screen, but I can imagine it is a fantastic experience and a perfect way to spend an evening close to the scariest time of the year. Check out the BFI-edited 2016 trailer for The Shining below to remind yourselves just how fabulously terrifying it is.
