Based on the freshly-released first trailer for Luis Prieto’s (Kidnap, Pusher) latest outing, Shattered, everything suggests audiences are in for a serpentine shocker of a ride, much akin to the likes of Rob Reiner’s Misery or Adrian Lyne’s Fatal Attraction.
Written by David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, The Intruder), and starring newcomer Lilly Krug, Frank Grillo (Copshop, The Purge franchise, Mother’s Day), Cameron Monaghan (Amityville: The Awakening, “Shameless”), Sasha Luss (Anna), and John Malkovich (Shadow of the Vampire, Mary Reilly), Shattered sees a lonely tech millionaire Chris (Monaghan) cross paths with the charming and sexy Sky (Krug). Passion grows between them – and when he’s injured, she quickly steps in as his nurse. But Sky’s peculiar behaviour has Chris suspecting that her intentions are anything but honourable, especially when Sky’s roommate is found dead from mysterious causes.
Shattered is scheduled to release in select theatres, On Digital and On-demand from 14 January, 2022. In anticipation, we’ll leave you with the aforementioned first trailer which is sure to whet your appetite for a film that’s now firmly on our radar for next year.
