There are more sights to show us… apparently.

Word reaches us from a very reliable source that Hulu are developing a new Hellraiser film.

The project will be a sequel to David Bruckner’s 2022 film Hellraiser, which took on the daunting task of rebooting the tired property.

After 10 films, the 2022 offering, from a script by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, opted to begin anew. Given the series’ patchy reception with audiences, the decision was taken to make Hellraiser a streaming original movie.

Receiving significant media attention for its portrayal of a female Pinhead character, Hellraiser became the most critically successful series entry in almost 30 years. The film went on to garner a handful of award nominations within the genre, and held up respectably in the streaming stakes.

Now, producer Keith Levine has confirmed that negotiations are happening regarding a sequel. According to Levine, David Bruckner has been approached to helm the project once again, and is “actively discussing” the project with Spyglass Media Group.

Nothing is currently known about the movie’s plot, but fans have voiced their hopes that actress Jamie Clayton will reprise her role as Pinhead. A role previously associated with Doug Bradley, Clayton received universal praise for her take on the character, with many noting Pinhead’s menace had returned.

So, a promising update for the series in a time when horror franchises seem to be thriving. We will be watching closely for any further news on a potential Hellraiser reboot sequel.
