Scout Taylor-Compton proved a likeable and grounding lead in Rob Zombie’s divisive Halloween films, but never really made the impact in horror that I’d hoped she would. She’s been very busy within the genre of late however, and currently has a number of horror flicks in various stages of production. One currently filming is The Lurker, which sounds like a pretty straight-up slasher, and also stars the original Jason Voorhees, Ari Lehman.
The film – which sees a group of theatre students hunted by a mysterious killer – is being directed by Eric Liberacki. Filming began on November 25th, with the majority of the shoot taking place in Chicago.
“The movie centers on a group of high school students finishing a production of Romeo and Juliet. As students and faculty begin to die, it’s a race against time to find the killer and escape with their lives.”
The cast also features American Horror Story’s Naomi Grossman, Power’s Adam Huss, Michael Emery (Bone Tomahawk) and Casey Tutton. The Lurker was written and produced by John Lerchen under his Forever Safe Productions banner.
