Sunday’s MTV awards brought with them far more than just reality TV stars treated as royalty and sexualised teenagers, they also played host to the second trailer for what is now officially called It: Part 1 – The Losers’ Club, and it’s a doozy.
Focusing more of the dynamic between key members of the Losers’ Club than the previous trailer, it takes us into Derry’s sewers with them, as well as featuring a moment from the Apocalyptic Rock Fight, one of Ritchie’s Voices, another look at the house on Neibolt Street and a truly chilling final moment.
Mama helmer Andrés (or Andy, if you prefer) Muschietti directed the film, which stars Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Finn Wolfhard as the young friends who do battle with Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgård.
The excitement that built around March’s first trailer for the much-anticipated Stephen King adaptation was of the levels usually reserved for the public’s first taste of a new Star Wars film. There was even a teaser for the trailer, for God’s sake. Coverage was across the board, from horror sites to mainstream news outlets. And this is for a horror film.
It: Part 1 – The Losers’ Club will be fucking up cinema audiences from September 8th.
