Will Ghostface be slashing through the snow on a one-horse open sleigh?
Another week and another round of Scream VII speculation lands. This time we lead with a persistent rumour that the seventh entry in the popular slasher series will take place during the Christmas holiday.
This comes on the heels of Scream VI setting its bloodshed against the backdrop of Halloween, which furthers reports we’ve been hearing that the film will take place just weeks later.
Also given to us by a trusted source, we have a first look at what just might be the film’s logo. In a complimentary Halloween gift pack that accompanied screeners of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, Paramount provided some adorable stencils for pumpkin carving.
However, whilst the Scream logo on display may look like the standard Scream VI logo on first inspection, a closer look reveals something more. The V in the Roman numerals now appears much more central, allowing the remaining sides of the letter M to form two perfect I’s… So, does it say “Scream VII?” It seems that way!
If this is indeed Paramount issuing their first tiny piece of promo for the upcoming seventh entry, it may suggest things are moving much faster than we’re aware. With the SAG-AFTRA strike still in progress, but with negotiations continuing, it is our understanding that Paramount want to begin shooting as soon as restrictions are lifted.
To that end, we’ve heard that deals are close to being finalised and shooting in November is a possibility, strike permitting.
Will Ghostface be returning as soon as Christmas 2024? Only time will tell, but it all looks very promising. Watch this space for further updates.
