With Scream 6 slated to slash into theatres on March 31st, 2023, casting is well underway. The latest addition, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is Dermot Mulroney (Insidious: Chapter 3), who is said to be playing a cop.
The film will also see the return of Scream’s Melissa Barrera (Sam), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy), Mason Gooding (Chad), and Jenna Ortega (Tara), as well as Scream 4 fan favourite Hayden Panettiere as Kirby. No word yet on whether any of the legacy characters will make an appearance.
In Scream 6, “the Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Scream directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back at the helm, with writer James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick also returning for the sequel.
Franchise creator Kevin Williamson will executive produce the sixth instalment alongside Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena. Producers include James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak.
