Just as we covered the latest Scream 7 casting, news reached us that left us floored… and confused.
Reliable sources have confirmed that Scandal actor Scott Foley has joined Scream 7 in an undisclosed role.
The news has been greeted with shock and awe amongst Scream fans, as Foley previously starred in 2000’s Scream 3.
Playing ambitious filmmaker Roman Bridger, Foley was ultimately revealed to be that movie’s Ghostface. Not only that, he happened to be the illegitimate half-brother of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott.
However, given that the character of Roman Bridger took a bullet to the head, Foley’s involvement in the seventh instalment has mystified fans. Many are assuming the actor will simply play a different character, in a meta joke, whilst others believe Roman Bridger will return from the dead.
Since no further information seems to be forthcoming, we’ll just have to wait and see what Scream 7 has in store.
The film will see the return of previous cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Roger L. Jackson.
Joining them will be franchise newcomers such as Isabel May, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, and Asa Germann.
Currently shooting under the direction of series creator Kevin Williamson, Scream 7 will reach theatres on February 27th 2026.
We’ll keep a vigilant lookout for any other surprising updates until then.
