Principal photography has commenced on Radio Silence’s sequel to their 2017 hit Ready or Not, officially titled Ready or Not: Here I Come.
Whilst that’s exciting news, it is the plethora of names boarding the project that have really gotten genre fans talking.
Continuing her career resurgence, Scream Queen and genre favourite Sarah Michelle Gellar has joined the project. This is the latest in a series of prominent roles for Gellar, including an arc on Dexter: Original Sin, and the confirmation that the actress will return for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. Undoubtedly, Ready or Not: Here I Come will be another jewel in Gellar’s genre crown.
Another genre regular to join the project is Elijah Wood, who was most recently seen in Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey. His other genre outings include 1998’s The Faculty, 2012’s Maniac, and 2016’s Come to Daddy.
Also best known for his role in The Faculty, actor Shawn Hatosy will reunite with Wood, having also joined the cast of Ready or Not: Here I Come.
The horror heavyweights keep coming, as horror filmmaking legend David Cronenberg has also boarded the cast. Of course, this isn’t a first for the director, having previously flexed his acting chops in Jason X and Shudder’s horror series Slasher.
Finally, Bates Motel and Lost alum Nestor Carbonell has also been confirmed to have a role in the sequel. However, every above-mentioned name is currently playing an undisclosed role in the project. However, we’ll let you know as soon as that changes.
The star-studded newcomers will join original star Samara Weaving, with the previously-announced new additions of Kathryn Newton and Kevin Durand.
So, it looks like Ready or Not: Here I Come is shaping up to be quite the big deal for Fox Searchlight! We have complete faith that Radio Silence and their entire returning team will secure another hit, especially with such a cast in place.
Ready or Not: Here I Come currently does not have a confirmed release date, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for one, and bring you the news as soon as we know.
