We’d been hearing regular updates for a while on Send Help, Sam Raimi’s highly-anticipated return to the horror genre.
However, for the last number of weeks things have been kept under wraps, in a move to avoid leaks.
Now, we have what will likely be our last update for some time. However, it’s an exciting one, as we can confirm that Send Help has wrapped production! The news was confirmed by the movie’s producer Zainab Azizi in an Instagram post, revealing production had visited L.A., Thailand, and Australia.
Send Help will star Dylan O’Brien, Dennis Haysbert, Chris Pang, and Academy Award Nominee Rachel McAdams, and is described as “Castaway meets Misery.”
As per an official logline:
“Send Help” is a survival horror thriller about two colleagues (O’Brien and McAdams) who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”
From a script by Freddy Vs. Jason scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, Azizi is producing alongside Raimi and the “Raimi Productions” banner.
Send Help will mark Raimi’s first genre directing gig since 2009’s universally adored Drag Me to Hell.
Send Help will release to theatres via 20th Century Studios on January 30th 2025. Stay tuned for any further developments.
