He raised the dead multiple times, and dragged us to hell. Now, Sam Raimi is set to take up directing duties on a brand-new horror project.
Whilst still not officially greenlit, it has been reported by reliable sources that Send Help will be a tense two-hander movie.
Described as 2001’s Castaway meets 1990’s Misery, the film is penned by Freddy Vs. Jason scribes Mark Swift and Damian Shannon.
Raimi’s last genre project in the director’s chair was 2009’s fondly remembered Drag Me to Hell. However, in the intervening years, the filmmaker has been a prolific producer of genre projects, lending his prowess to projects such as The Possession, Don’t Breathe, 30 Days of Night, and 2023’s hit sequel Evil Dead Rise.
Aside from Send Help, Raimi’s name will next appear on-screen with the horror-thriller Don’t Move for Netflix.
