Oscar nominee Alfre Woodard (Annabelle, A Series of Unfortunate Events) has joined the cast of New Line’s upcoming adaptation of Salem’s Lot!
Other newly announced cast members include Makenzie Leigh (Gotham), Bill Camp (The Outsider), and Spencer Treat Clark (Glass). They join the previously announced Lewis Pullman (The Strangers: Prey at Night) who’ll be playing protagonist Ben Mears, an author returning to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book. Ben gets far more than he bargained for when he learns the town is being preyed on by a bloodthirsty vampire.
Woodard will play Dr. Cody, who assists Ben, Susan Norton (Leigh), and Matt Burke (Camp) in fighting the spread of vampires. Clark will play Mike Ryerson who, in Stephen King’s 1975 novel, is one of the first townspeople turned.
Gary Dauberman (It) is attached to write and direct this fresh adaptation, which is being produced by James Wan. Roy Lee and Mark Wolper will also produce, with Dauberman executive producing.
