GSC Game World has announced that it is pushing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl out of its planned December 8th, 2022 release date. The game will now release sometime in 2023.
This decision comes as a result of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. In a new Dev Diary, the GSC team share their stories of working on the game during the conflict, with one narrative designer noting that “it’s not easy to write violent quests when there’s a war outside your window.” And while the company has set up a new office in the Czech Republic, some of the team have chosen to stay behind to help defend their country.
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players will explore the vast Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, which is full of dangerous enemies, deadly anomalies, and powerful artefacts. The game will be available for the Xbox Series, Xbox Game Pass, and the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
