Rupert Grint (pictured above) has been cast in an upcoming thriller series for Apple. The series is currently untitled but it will feature 10 30-minute episodes. M. Night Shyamalan will executive produce the series and also direct the first episode.
Grint joins Nell Tiger Free and Lauren Ambrose in the cast, which we expect to continue to grow.
Apple is getting serious as it increases its list of originals, hoping to compete with streaming giants Netflix and Amazon. Apple is also working on dramas with Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon and Damien Chazelle, as well as a reboot Amazing Stories with executive producer Steven Spielberg.
Details are limited on the M. Night Shyamalan series, but we do know that 24’s Tony Basgallop created the series, and he will write and executive producer alongside Shyamalan, Split’s Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch for Blinding Edge.
