Paramount+ have obtained the ultimate horror movie good omen with Apartment 7A, as the film has been given an R rating by the MPA.
The film, a prequel to 1968’s classic Rosemary’s Baby, is said to contain “some violent content and drug use.”
Ozark star Julia Garner takes on the lead role, with Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally portraying the iconic nosy neighbours Minnie and Roman Castevet.
Taking place in 1965, Apartment 7A will tell the story of Terry Gionoffrio, an injured dancer with a drug problem. Her life seems to be turning around when she’s taken under the wing of the kindly Castevet’s. However, they have a very sinister motive behind their good deed.
Only a minor character in the 1968 original, it will be interesting to see the backstory of the tragic Terry, originally the intended host for the spawn of Satan.
Written and directed by Natalie Erika James, Apartment 7A is a co-production between Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes.
Although set to premiere on Paramount+ this fall, the movie doesn’t have a debut date just yet. All we know is it’ll be available to stream “in the lead up to Halloween,” however, we’ll let you know the minute a definitive date is announced.
