Hold your breath! A sequel to Fede Alvarez’s pulse-pounding 2016 horror film Don’t Breathe has been greenlit, and Rodo Sayagues, the original film’s co-writer, will be directing.
In case you missed it, Don’t Breathe saw a group of thieves breaking into the home of a blind man (Stephen Lang) with the intention of robbing him. But when the man becomes aware of their presence, he proves to be far less helpless than they’d anticipated…
Lang will reprise his chilling role for the sequel, which will be set several years later. The blind man has been living a quiet life since the home invasion—but his sins are about to catch up to him.
Sayagues also co-wrote the script for Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake. He’ll make his directorial debut with Don’t Breathe 2, which he co-wrote with Alvarez. The film will be produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Alvarez, with production slated to begin in April.
