With Rob Zombie having completed week 3 of filming on his House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil’s Rejects sequel 3 From Hell, another cast member has been announced and, to those familiar with Zombie’s films, it’ll come as little surprise.
Jeff Daniel Phillips – who appeared in Zombie’s Halloween 2, The Lords of Salem and 31 – is the latest name to be revealed, although we’ve no word on the character he plays. Phillips joins the core trio of Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie, as well as the recently announced Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13) and genre icon Dee Wallace (E.T, The Howling, Critters).
We still know next to nothing about how Zombie plans to do revive psychotic Firefly family members Baby, Otis and Captain Spaulding, who were last seen driving into a hail of gunfire to the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Freebird at the climax of The Devil’s Rejects. Speculation is rife however, and centres mostly on the film’s title, which may suggest something of a supernatural bent, and the three sadistic sickos returning from the grave.
