It is definitely not the best of Zombie’s work – not in my opinion anyway, but Rob Zombie has hinted at a sequel to Lords of Salem. On a Facebook post the musician-director responded to a fan who dared to say Lords of Salem was not successful, when apparently, it is Zombie’s most successful DVD release. Who knew? Thus, the director said that a sequel would not actually be out of the question.
I wouldn’t go holding your breath for a sequel to arise any time soon, because Rob Zombie is a bit tied up with a couple of upcoming films at the moment. First of all, his Halloween-set clown horror 31 is set to be released in 2016 and then, he’s recently been announced as the director of a Groucho Marx biopic. Based on the memoir Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House, this will be Zombie’s first venture outside of the horror genre.
Whatever happens, a sequel to Lords of Salem wouldn’t be a bad thing, right?
