“Evil can’t be contained!”
Today, Sony Pictures has unleashed an all new “NIGHTMARE” trailer to promote the impending release of RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY.
Written and directed by Johannes Roberts, a long-time fan of the massively popular videogame franchise, RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY is based around the narratives of the first two games whilst with additional inspiration drawn from John Carpenter films, including Halloween, Assault on Precinct 13, and The Fog.
Starring Kaya Scodelario (Crawl, Tiger House), Hannah John-Kamen (Unwelcome, Ant-Man and the Wasp), Robbie Amell (The Babysitter, Code 8), Tom Hopper (Terminator: Dark Fate, Tormented) and Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), the film takes place in 1998 in the dying Midwestern town of Raccoon City, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY releases exclusively across movie theatres this November 24, 2021 but in the meantime will leave you with the aforementioned “Nightmare” trailer…
