Grab your Ghostface mask and scare Sidney because Scream 5 is officially happening! What’s more, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors behind last year’s entertaining horror-comedy Ready or Not, have been tapped to helm the film, which will be executive produced by Kevin Williamson, writer of three out of four of the original movies.
Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are part of the filmmaking collective Radio Silence, which created segments for the horror anthologies V/H/S and Southbound. Chad Villella, the other member of the collective, is also on board to executive produce.
While plot details are scarce at this time, rumour has it that the film will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to get to the bottom of a series of vicious crimes. Will this tie into the original instalments of the franchise? We’ll have to wait and see!
