It’s been quite the difficult project for them, but we can now confirm that production has wrapped on Radio Silence’s “Untitled Monster Movie” for Universal.
Production began back in June, with filming on location in Dublin, however, the project was quickly shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strike paralysing Hollywood.
Further heartbreak occurred with the tragic death of actor Angus Cloud in July. The actor, only 24 at the time of his passing, was found unresponsive in what was later deemed to be a drug related fatality.
However, it was later confirmed that Cloud had completed his scenes prior to his passing and that production would resume once the strike allowed.
The project remains quite the enigma, as no one is quite sure what it’s about. What we know for certain is that it will be another instalment in Universal’s attempt to reboot their dark monster universe of yesteryear.
However, which property this will be remaking, or inspired by, remains the subject of debate. Whilst no official title has been given, with all involved remaining purposely mysterious, persisting rumours suggest Radio Silence are bringing us a reimagining of 1937’s Dracula’s Daughter.
What is known for certain is that the project will be headlined by Alisha Weir, Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton, and Dan Stevens, in addition to the late Angus Cloud.
Now, with production complete, Radio Silence have less than five months left to get the film ready for its April 19th release date.
Will the tight window require this untitled project to become yet another strike-related delay? Or will Radio Silence prove themselves horror masters once more and bring us the film on time?
We’ll be here to report the outcome!
