The indie thriller Pet has been in the works since 2007, but we can now report that the production is finally underway. Dominic Monaghan from Lord of the Rings fame signed on to star in the project in 2008 with Enda McCallion on-board to direct. However, he has since moved on and a replacement director has been found in Carles Torrens (Apartment 143) and the screenwriter is Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect).
The story is said to follow a man who imprisons a woman he has become obsessed with. However, in Hard Candy-style, the tables are turned when he realises she is not the woman he thought. I love a bit of revenge and if this is anything like Gone Girl, Hard Candy or I Spit on Your Grave, I think we’re in for a treat.
