The first official teaser trailer for Prey has arrived ahead of the film’s summer release!
A prequel to the Predator franchise, Prey takes place 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation. The film will follow Naru, a fierce and skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains—so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. But the prey she stalks and ultimately confronts turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Prey was directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) and written by Patrick Aison (Treadstone). As part of the filmmakers’ commitment to providing an accurate portrayal of the Comanche, the film’s cast is made up almost entirely of Native and First Nations talent, including Amber Midthunder, who plays Naru, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope.
Prey releases on August 5th. UK viewers can watch the film on Disney+, while audiences in the US can catch it on Hulu.
