Look at me, Damien! It’s all for you—because 20th Century Studios is working on a prequel to The Omen!
The film, called The First Omen, will be directed by Arkasha Stevenson (Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block), making her feature directorial debut. Deadline notes that Stevenson will also handle the rewrite alongside writing partner Tim Smith, though it doesn’t specify whether they are working from an existing script. That’s certainly possible, as Hollywood has been trying to get an Omen prequel off the ground for years.
The original The Omen was released in 1976 and saw an American ambassador questioning whether his young son might be the Antichrist following a string of mysterious deaths. Gregory Peck starred in the film, which spawned two sequels and a 2006 reboot.
