The latest photo for AMC’s religious and relentless Preacher pilot shows Reverend Jesse Custer and Arseface sat in a darkened bedroom, perhaps looking for their faith.
Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express), who will direct the pilot alongside Evan Goldberg (This Is The End), recently tweeted that Dominic Cooper had been cast as the brooding and conflicting Reverend Jesse Custer. Now he’s tweeted the first photo from the pilot show with only #Preacher to accompany.
Custer sits with fan favourite from the comics, Arseface, real name Eugene Root who was encouraged to commit suicide after Kurt Cobain’s death but survived the nasty gun blast to his face.
Rogen and Goldberg are working with Bill Hope (The Matrix) on camera and Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) who wrote the screenplay.
Starring alongside Cooper is Ian Colletti as Arseface, Joseph Gilgun as Irish vampire Cassidy, Rith Negga as Tulip, W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Root and Lucy Griffiths as organist Emily Woodrow.
Preacher pilot is expected to be released early 2016.
Synopsis:
When an unlawful Preacher decides to hunt down God, the fight between good and evil becomes a little skewed, leaving an ambiguous good cop, bad cop character. Along the way he still has to do his duties and provide comfort and solace to those around him.
