Paranormal Activity isn’t quite done terrifying audiences yet, with word of a video game adaption from DreadXP reaching us this past week.

Although not due until 2026, the adaption will see Paranormal Activity become the latest in a long line of horror franchises to broach gaming.

Friday the 13th, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and Scream have all dabbled in the media, either crafting their own individual games, or being acquired by the survival-horror game Dead by Daylight.

DreadXP will be partnering with Paramount Game Studios to bring the Paranormal Activity experience into homes around the globe. The developers already have huge experience in the field of supernatural horror games with The Mortuary Assistant and My Friendly Neighbourhood being enormously successful.

Paranormal Activity seems the perfect property to fit into this well-established mould and craft a truly terrifying gaming experience. To that end, the developers are to set about creating an “advanced haunt” feature to give the game “maximum terror.”

An unexpected announcement, but a welcome addition to the horror gaming sphere, Paranormal Activity will undoubtedly slot in nicely with the likes of Slender: The Arrival and Outlast. The game could potentially give the franchise a whole new life.
