October is the perfect month for scary movies, right? The nights are getting longer and things are getting spookier with Halloween just around the corner.
Well, Paramount Pictures definitely agree, as they chose October 1st to drop the first official piece of promo for Scream 7.
The studio, alongside the movie’s official accounts, premiered the first logo for Scream 7 in celebration of October 1st.
This is the first activity from the official Scream movie accounts in over 2 years, signalling that promo for the seventh film is about to ramp up.
The logo bears many similarities to that of 1997’s Scream 2, with the number 7 positioned behind the word “Scream.” A new addition to the logo is the violent slash across the word, hinting at the merciless Ghostface fans have been promised from Scream 7.
With promo beginning, it’s only a matter of time before we get posters, official stills, and that highly anticipated trailer. So, there are exciting times ahead for the Scream fandom.
The seventh entry has had a turbulent path to release, and been steeped in controversy along the way.
Following the success of Scream VI, a seventh movie with the same cast was initially in the works. However, actress Melissa Barrera was later fired from the project following controversial social media comments.
Scream 7 was subsequently entirely retooled, with franchise star Neve Campbell spearheading the project, alongside Scream creator Kevin Williamson.
Alongside Campbell, the movie will star returning cast members Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Mason Gooding, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, and David Arquette.
Newcomers to the franchise cast include Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Isabel May, Sam Rechner, and Mckenna Grace.
Scream 7 will hit theatres on February 27th 2026, and we’ll be on the lookout for that promo!
