Just weeks after setting a Halloween 2024 release date and losing its main star, Blumhouse’s Wolf Man remake gets another casting update.
Ozark star Julia Garner has been announced to star in the project alongside Ryan Gosling’s replacement Christopher Abbott.
Garner, a hot commodity in Hollywood following multiple Emmy wins, will play the mother of a family stalked by a dangerous predator. Abbott will play her husband, but it is currently unknown if he will also be the titular creature.
The casting news comes after original star Ryan Gosling exited the project alongside director Derek Cianfrance.
It is currently unknown who is overseeing the project in a directorial capacity, but it is suspected that writer and producer Leigh Whannell will assume the position.
Whannell initially departed the project some time ago, when it seemed development had stalled. However, things seem to have sped up significantly of late, and Whannell may just be the best fit for the position given that production will have to start very soon.
Currently slated for release on October 25th 2024, Blumhouse are gunning for Wolf Man to be their next big spooky season hit, but will they be able to make that date?
We’ll bring you any further developments on this somewhat unpredictable project as soon as we can.
