Goofy cult hit Ouija Shark is getting a sequel! The film is slated to hit theatres in Japan this August, and you can check out the first trailer on Deadline’s website.
In the original film, which released direct-to-video in 2020, a group of teenage girls inadvertently summon an ancient, man-eating shark while playing with a spirit board that washed up on a beach. To rid the world of the deadly ghost once and for all, they must turn to an occult specialist.
Deadline notes that the sequel, which comes to us from actor-director John Migliore, “promises to tell a tale of Kaiju-sized proportions, delving deep into the mystic realm of the Ouija Shark and expanding upon the original’s supernatural elements.” Expect a North American release from Wild Eye Releasing later this year.
