Nearly a decade in the making, time-loop horror Half to Death now seems to be off the starting blocks, albeit with a different production house behind it.
Nine years ago, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes were looking at Transformers and Jennifer’s Body star Megan Fox to star in the film which channels Groundhog Day, centring on a girl who must relive the same day over and over again until she figures out who is trying to kill her and why. Now reportedly picked up by Blumhouse, Half to Death is due to begin shooting in November in Georgia.
While Megan Fox is no longer attached to the project, it does have a director in the form of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones director Christopher Landon. As well as writing and directing that franchise’s fifth entry, Landon wrote all previous instalments from part 2, and more recently directed Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse. He co-wrote Half to Death along with Scott Lobdell.
The premise certainly has potential; hopefully we’ll see some casting announcements soon.
