After a hugely successful trailer, hype for Ti West’s MaXXXine is inescapable, so it’s the perfect time to look at some new images from the film!
Set in Hollywood in 1985, MaXXXine sees Mia Goth’s Maxine Minx land a role in a horror movie. Determined to be a movie star, her hopes are in doubt when a series of murders begin around her.
In the most intriguing of the newly-released photos, we see Kevin Bacon, looking suitably horrified with his face dripping with blood. Whilst we have no context for the image, it makes us want to see the final product so much more. Bacon was one of the first names to join the project, and will portray a private detective seeking Maxine regarding her very bloody past.
We also see Goth in full movie-star mode as she exits an audition call. In the background of the scene, you can spot a long line of hopeful actresses stood next to a sign stating “show us your X-factor!” Series fans were quick to note the artful tie-in with previous instalments X and Pearl.
MaXXXine is said to be the final chapter of the story Ti West began with 2022’s X. However, should the film perform well, the filmmaker has made it clear he’s open to more.
The film will release on July 5th via A24, and is expected to perform quite well.
