The witch’s plan is explored in more depth in the new featurette for Gretel & Hansel, the latest horror film from Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House).
The film is set a long time ago in a distant fairytale countryside. A young girl named Gretel (Sophia Lillis) leads her little brother, Hansel (Sammy Leakey), into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work. What they stumble upon instead is a nexus of terrifying evil…
“This story is about magic,” says Alice Krige, who plays the witch, Holda. “There is Holda’s magic. There is Gretel’s magic. And then there is Osgood Perkins’ magic.”
