A new poster has arrived for Harrison Smith’s eagerly awaited Death House, and it makes liberal use of the film’s USP. The extraordinary list of names on display includes Kane Hodder, Dee Wallace, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Barbara Crampton, Adrienne Barbeau, Michael Berryman and of course Leatherface himself, the late Gunnar Hansen, who wrote the original script before his untimely passing last November.
The new artwork, by Sean ‘OddNMacabre’, is undeniably striking, and features the film’s pretty great tagline: ‘Hell isn’t a word. It’s a sentence.’
If you don’t know the basic plot by now, here’s the synopsis:
Two federal agents fight their way through nine levels of Hell inside a secret prison known as the Death House. A facility-wide prison break turns their flight into a tour of horrors as they push toward the ultimate evil housed in the lowest depths of the earth.
The two agents are played by Piranha 3D’s Cody Longo and Cortney Palm (Zombeavers, Silent Night).
Earlier this week Harrison Smith talked of his hope for as many as four sequels to Death House, expressing his keenness to get another horror legend onboard, ‘the one that got away’, as it were. “Do we want Robert [Englund] in the sequel?” Smith said. “Absolutely. And we hope we’ll have him.”
Death House is expected to arrive early in 2017, with a distributor yet to be chosen.
