Never Open the Door Nabs a December Release

Posted on: November 21st, 2016

Never Open the Door has nabbed a release date for this 6th December, with the film being released on VOD, DVD and Blu-ray in time for Christmas. It’s certainly not the most festive of films, but it’s always the time of year for a chilling homage to The Twilight Zone and that’s what this film is.

Synopsis:
notd-blu-ray-3d-frontThree happy couples retreat to a cosy secluded cabin in the woods to enjoy Thanksgiving. A badly wounded stranger appears at the door, and when they let him in, he throws up blood and collapses on the floor. As he dies, he points towards the lovers and croaks his final words: “Never open the door”. The dumbfounded group of friends start to panic as one of their own inexplicably disappears. Doubt rises by the minute and mistrust soaks through the cabin.  As strange men surround the cabin, escape becomes paramount.  Who will open the door?

You can check out the trailer for Never Open the Door below, which is certainly channelling the same mysterious tone as horror shows like The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone, with the black and white photography adding another layer of intrigue. There is also some obvious inspiration from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead in the cabin setting and the hints of a monstrous entity spoiling the characters’ plan for a secluded getaway.

Never Open the Door comes from writer-director Vito Trabucco (Bloody Bloody Bible Camp) and stars Jessica Sonneborn (Dog Eat Dog, House Across the Street), Kristina Page (The Haunting of Alice D), George Troester (Face Off) and Deborah Venegas (Bloody Bloody Bible Camp).
