Posted on: October 9th, 2022

Master of horror Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Crimson Peak, Pan’s Labyrinth) is opening up his Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix later this month, and the official trailer previews the terrifying sights in store!

In the series: “From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, the eight sinister tales—including two original works by del Toro—will be brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by the Shape of Water filmmaker.”

Netflix will be dropping the first two episodes of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on October 25th. Two more episodes will then be dropped each day through October 28th.

Directors for the series include Vincenzo Natali (Cube), Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), Guillermo Navarro (Hannibal), Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight), Keith Thomas (The Vigil), David Prior (The Empty Man), Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), and Panos Cosmatos (Mandy). Notable names in the cast include Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Sofia Boutella (Climax), Rupert Grint (Servant), Crispin Glover (Willard), and Essie Davis (The Babadook), among many others.

Del Toro has previously stated that “With Cabinet of Curiosities, we set out to showcase the realities existing outside of our normal world: the anomalies and curiosities. We hand-picked and curated a group of stories and storytellers to deliver these tales, whether they come from outer space, supernatural lore, or simply within our minds.“Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight tales is a fantastical peek inside the cabinet of delights existing underneath the reality we live in.”
