NEON ACQUIRES MAIKA MONROE VAMPIRE MOVIE “BRIDES”

Posted on: January 3rd, 2025

Following the massive success NEON experienced with 2024’s Longlegs, it makes perfect sense that the company would want to keep star Maika Monroe close.

So, it’s little surprise that the company has acquired Brides, a brand-new vampire tale, and intend to release it theatrically.

Monroe is set to reunite with Watcher director Chloe Okuno for the project.

According to an official logline, Brides is described as:
“Set in 1960s Italy, Sally Bishop (Monroe) and her husband travel to a remote villa in the wake of Sally’s nervous breakdown. The villa’s owner, a mysterious count, takes a peculiar interest in Sally. But he gets far more than he anticipated when Sally’s feminist chaos is added to his perfect, violent Eden of vampire brides.”

The film is expected to “flip Bram Stoker’s Dracula narrative on its head, exploring the struggle between societal repression and carnal desire.” It’s also described as “gothic, glamorous, and gory.”

Filming is expected to begin on the project in Spring 2025, with no further cast members announced as of this writing.

Similarly, a release date is still pending for the project, but we’re sure that will soon change now that NEON are aboard.
