20th Century Studios is developing a prequel film in The Omen franchise, and Nell Tiger Free (Servant) is set to star!
The film, which is simply called The First Open, will be directed by Arkasha Stevenson (Channel Zero), making her feature directorial debut. Stevenson is also tackling writing duties alongside her writing partner Tim Smith, who serves as an executive producer.
The Omen was released in 1976 and follows an American ambassador (Gregory Peck) who grows to believe his young son, Damien, is the Antichrist. The film spawned three sequels, with the most recent entry in the original franchise—the made-for-TV film Omen IV: The Awakening—releasing in 1991.
The Omen also received a remake in 2006 and a short-lived TV series, Damien, in 2016.
