Paramount is working on a spinoff film to its hit horror franchise A Quiet Place, and we’ve got some exciting casting news to share with you: Lupita Nyong’o (Us, Little Monsters) has signed on to star!
Michael Sarnoski (Pig) is directing the film, which is called A Quiet Place: Day One. The spinoff is based on an original idea by John Krasinski, who is producing alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s characters from the original films are unlikely to appear, though Krasinski has previously teased that he has ideas for a third film in the core series.
Paramount is reportedly hoping to set up a Quiet Place universe with this latest film. This casting news has certainly upped our interest in seeing more stories set in this universe, as Nyong’o gave a truly unforgettable dual performance in Jordan Peele’s Us and we can’t wait to see what she does with this role.
A Quiet Place: Day One is currently dated for a March 8th, 2024 release.
