“LONGLEGS” GIVES LITTLE AWAY WITH FIRST TRAILER

Posted on: February 12th, 2024

Last month we showed you a mysterious teaser that NEON released with no fanfare. In fact, the company didn’t even specify what film from their upcoming slate the short clip was for. Through major fan speculation, it was assumed the disturbing teaser was for Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs, but this was never confirmed… Until now.

Now we have our first full-length trailer for the serial killer tale starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe. A returning font from the initial mystery teaser confirms that clip was indeed for Longlegs… However, other than that, this first full trailer gives away very little about the film.

Serving as little more than an assortment of random images, the trailer continues this mysterious marketing campaign that largely keeps the audience in the dark. In shots reminiscent of a gritty seventies’ thriller, we see Cage from behind sat at a grimy desk, we see Monroe studying her investigation board, and most ominously, a few shots of a car on the prowl.

Giving us next to no dialogue, the trailer divulges little of the plot, which is described as follows:
“FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”

Co-starring Blair Underwood and Alicia Witt, Longlegs is set to hit screens on July 12th 2024, and is just one of a plethora of horror movies on the way from NEON.

If you’d like to check out the ambiguous trailer for yourself, you can view it below, along with some unnerving teaser posters.
