The feature directorial debut of queer filmmaker Addison Heimann, LGBTQ+ horror movie Hypochondriac has shared some casting news via Deadline. The film’s cast includes American Horror Story’s Zach Villa, Dexter’s Devon Graye, and Twin Peaks’ Madeline Zima!
Also in the cast are Chris Doubek (Bacurau), Marlene Forte (Fear the Walking Dead), Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds), Adam Busch (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Michael Cassidy (Army of the Dead), Peter Mensah (Jason X), and Debra Wilson (Scary Movie 4). The film will see a young potter’s life devolving into chaos as he loses function of his body while being haunted by the physical manifestation of his childhood trauma.
According to Deadline, Addison’s goal is to “elevate and empower queer characters in the genre space.” He has had shorts and web series featured at festivals like Outfest, Fantasia, and the Chicago International Film Festival.
