In the newest poster for The Nun, the latest spinoff in James Wan’s The Conjuring universe, Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) and Father Burke (Demián Bichir) come face to face with the demon Valak (Bonnie Aarons). The priest’s silhouette, with a bowler hat and briefcase, looks a lot like the iconic poster for The Exorcist in which Father Merrin (Max von Sydow) arrives at the MacNeil residence to battle Pazuzu. The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy from a screenplay penned by franchise mastermind Wan and Gary Dauberman. Look for it to arrive in US Theatres beginning September 7th. Give the trailer and synopsis a spin below.
Synopsis:
When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
