“LAST SUMMER” LEGACY SEQUEL DEBUTS FIRST FOOTAGE AT CINEMA-CON

Posted on: April 7th, 2025

This past week was one of the most exciting times to be a movie fan.

The yearly Cinema-Con convention took place in Las Vegas, and we’ve witnessed a flurry of excitement at some of the info emerging.

For those unaware, Cinema-Con is an event where studios can showcase upcoming releases to gauge the interest of theatre owners and investors.

Although Sony Pictures did offer extended looks at Final Destination: Bloodlines, and Until Dawn, neither has created quite the ripples to match a sneak peek at I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Sony debuted the first teaser for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s highly anticipated legacy sequel, surprising and delighting those in attendance.

Although brief, the teaser is said to showcase everything from our new cast, to some gory kills. However, most importantly, we get our first look at returning legacy cast members Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.

Drawing audible applause from the crowd, Prinze is seen warning a packed city hall that this is not the first time the city of Southport has witnessed violence. Hewitt is only briefly seen, but delivers the final kicker to the audience.

Talking ominously to the new cast, Hewitt is allegedly heard to say;
“I just need to know one thing; what did you do last summer?”

Undoubtedly the highlight of Sony’s Cinema-Con showcase, the teaser has sparked palpable excitement online.

However, given that the film isn’t due to release until July 18th, it’ll likely be a few weeks yet before we see this clip for ourselves.

In the meantime, we hope you’re enjoying the hype!
