Parker Finn’s highly anticipated sequel Smile 2 will soon begin shooting, so there is no better time to issue some casting updates.
In news that fans had hoped for, it has been confirmed that Kyle Gallner will reprise his role from the 2022 original. The actor co-starred as police detective Joel, alongside Sosie Bacon, and was the only one to survive.
The sequel will add another string to Gallner’s already impressive bow of horror appearances, furthering his status as a “scream king.” Previously Gallner has starred in Jennifer’s Body, The Haunting in Connecticut, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Cleansing Hour, Scream, and most recently The Passenger.
Also announced to be joining the cast are White Lotus star Lukas Gage, Rosemary DeWitt of Netflix’s The Staircase, and Power Rangers star Naomi Scott in the lead role.
Whilst exact plot details remain under wraps, Smile 2 is set to begin shooting soon. The project will be the first under a first-look deal director Parker Finn has signed with Paramount Pictures.
The film is set to hit screens on October 18th 2024, just in time for Halloween.
