As happened following Mad Max’s second outing, The Road Warrior in 1981, 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road also kicked off a wave of low budget post-apocalyptic flicks hoping to capitalise on its success. One currently receiving a little buzz is Apocalypse Road, which premieres on VOD in December from Wild Eye Releasing. Before then, we’ve got our first clip from the film, showing Katie Kohler’s Natalie being pursued by an unseen enemy.
Described in the press release as “a powerful mix of The Road and Fury Road” and “a sweat-inducing story about the instinct of human survival and unbreakable bonds”, the film tells a tale of two sisters, who become separated following a near-apocalyptic event and must flee from a gang of ruthless killers intent on building their own twisted form of law and order.
Katie Kohler (Subterranea) and Ashlyn McEvers star as sisters Natalie and Sarah, alongside Billy Blair (Machete, Machete Kills), Nellie Sciutto (Shutter Island) and Lance De Los Santos (The Damned Thing).
Brett Bentman wrote and directed the film, which hits VOD on December 5th.
