Kevin Bacon continues his working relationship with Blumhouse, and his quest to become the ultimate Scream King, as he takes the lead in a new horror-action series The Bondsman.
The Bondsman has been given a straight-to-series order via Amazon Prime and Blumhouse TV and is described as follows:
“The Bondsman centres on Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career — only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist.”
Although things seem to be going quite well for The Bondsman, it has been confirmed that the series will not begin production until the Writer’s Guild of America strike has ended, so we’ll just have to be patient.
This is another string to Bacon’s already impressive horror bow. Fans the world over know Bacon got his first featured role in 1980’s slasher classic Friday the 13th. Despite massive Hollywood stardom with roles in Footloose, A Few Good Men and Murder in the First, Bacon has continued to periodically revisit the genre. From Flatliners to Stir of Echoes, Hollow Man, Tremors or They/Them, Bacon remains faithful to his roots while declaring his love for the genre.
With The Bondsman this looks set to continue, as well as a key role in the upcoming remake of The Toxic Avenger. Horror fans will see plenty more Bacon on-screen, just watch this space!
