Under its original title of Home Invasion, Keep Watching was picked up by Sony Screen Gems back in 2015, where it sat around a while before a planned release of December 2016. The digital age home invasioner never arrived however, but, as reported by ERCboxoffice, it will finally be reaching audiences, with a single-day US theatrical appearance on Halloween. No word yet, but one would assume a home release will follow shortly after.
The film stars Bella Thorne (Amityville: The Awakening, Scream: The TV Series), The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs (who’s done a lot of growing up since this was shot way back in 2014) and Saw’s Leigh Whannell, as well as Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd, Natalie Martinez (Death Race) and Matthew Willig (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
Synopsis:
A family imprisoned by intruders is forced to play a terrifying game of ‘Kill, Or Be Killed’. As the night unfolds, the game’s mysterious rules become clear, and the family realises their nightmare is being streamed live to riveted viewers all over the world, who are compelled to Keep Watching…not knowing if what they’re seeing is real, or staged.
Hailing from Joel Silver’s low-budget genre label Zinc Entertainment, Keep Watching is the feature debut for director Sean Carter, whose experience lies mainly in editing documentaries. Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores produced the film via the Voltage Films banner with Andrew Rona & Alex Heineman via the Picture Company.
