It’s certainly not the first time Jordan Peele has been asked about it, but it’s the least evasive answer he’s given to the question of a sequel to his hit horror Get Out. In fact, it sounds as though he’s pretty set on at least exploring possibilities for a follow-up.
With 2017’s best horror film having bagged Oscar nominations for Best Film, Original Screenplay, Director and Lead Actor (for Daniel Kaluuya), Peele was asked about a sequel by THR on Nominee’s Night.
“I will definitely, seriously consider it,” he replied. “I love that universe and feel like there’s more story to tell. I don’t know what it is now, but there are some loose ends.”
It is of course, anybody’s guess as to where Peele might take the narrative for a second film. Perhaps Kaluuya’s Chris Washington could discover that the reach of the sinister cult he almost fell victim to is far larger than imagined, with the horror increased to a global scale. Anyway, I’m not one to speculate too much, but suffice to say I’d be well up for a Get Out 2.
