Posted on: April 12th, 2022

Indonesian horror master Joko Anwar (Impetigore, Satan’s Slaves) is directing an English-language adaptation of the Charles Beaumont short story “Fritzchen,” first published in 1953.

Deadline notes that the story, which appeared in Orbit magazine, “examines a boy’s encounter with a strange creature on the beach, blending elements of sci-fi and horror.” Michael Voyer (The Broodmare) is writing the adaptation.

Fritzchen will be Anwar’s first English-language film. Plot details are currently under wraps.
