Bethseda has released the below video interview with The Evil Within 2 director John Johanas and writer Trent Haaga, where they discuss the changes in gameplay in the upcoming game sequel. Most importantly, the pair talk about the increased freedom players will have, with The Evil Within 2 allowing for a more personalised gaming experience.
“You have much more options this time […] There are more options for running away and fighting is always an option. It leaves it up to you, the player, to how you want to play. You have to gauge the situation and decide how you want to respond to it.”
They also discuss the new tool Sebastian is equipped with – a communicator device – which will allow him to stay in-touch with Kidman, but it will also respond to things that have happened in his [Sebastian’s] world.
“In the game we call them residences or residual memories. It can chase down things that have happened in the past and lead you to other objectives. […] There could also be something terrible waiting for you, but it’s up to you to take that extra step.”
It sounds like it’s going to be another frightening and action-packed experience, so we hope you’re excited to get your hands on The Evil Within 2 from 17th October 2017.
