Fresh off of V/H/S/99, director Johannes Roberts has lined up his next project. Deadline reports that he’s been tapped to direct a mysterious new film for Screen Gems called Border Patrol, which James Wan’s Atomic Monster will produce.
According to Deadline, “The studio acquired the spec script written by Noah Griffith and Daniel Stewart. It is being rewritten by Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner.”
Plot details are currently under wraps, but with Roberts and Wan attached, it’s likely a genre film.
Roberts is perhaps best known for helming the tense shark attack movie 47 Meters Down and its sequel, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. He also directed The Strangers: Prey at Night and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, pictured above.
